Paul Bentley
Paul began his coaching life at the world famous Holland & Holland Shooting School, under the tutelage of the great Norman Clarke. He gave over 1,000 lessons per year. He has written three books on shooting and co-founded and edited The Shooting Life and Clay Shooting magazines. A multiple medal winner, he shot for Great Britain at Olympic Skeet, at European, Commonwealth, World and Olympic events. Upon his retirement he immediately became much sought after as an OSK coach, coaching the discipline worldwide. He also trained a number of GB Olympic competitors. In 1997 he called a number of famous shooters/ coaches with the idea of starting a new coaching association. This idea immediately took off, by 1998 becoming APSI! He wrote and produced the various APSI coaching courses, which have run very successfully since 2003. FITASC, responsible for world sporting shooting, enlisted Paul's expertise to create instructor courses for them. These ran until Covid interupted all APSI training courses. The courses are gradually being brought back to life, with all course categories on the cards for 2024. Paul is currently Chairman of the APSI Board of Directors.
